Importing Chemicals

When importing chemicals, a Toxic Substances Control Act Certification (TSCA) statement is required. This can be a positive or negative statement and falls under Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations.

The TSCA positive (+) statement is as follows:
We hereby certify that all chemical substances in this shipment comply with all applicable rules or orders under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) and that we are not offering a chemical substance for entry in violation of the Toxic Substances Control act (TSCA) or any applicable rules or order thereof.

The TSCA negative (-) statement is as follows:
We hereby certify that the chemical substance is not subject to TSCA

If known, the Chemical Abstract Service number (CAS#) makes for a more accurate tariff classification.

HAZMAT
For trucking on US roads, if the material is hazardous, a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is needed. This document can provide first responders with vital information that can save lives in the event of an accident.
